Gargantuan lofty heights
Glimmering softly
The bright white snow
Covering like a thick blanket
Over the solid rocky summit
Trudging about here and there
Wind whipping harshly
Against the small frail frame
Sitting on the last ledge
Before the precipice
Looking about this winter wonderland
Several jagged boulders
Such a daring distance below
Hiding in the shadows
Not a cloud looming ahead
While the early summer's mist
Enshrouds the figure
While the sun beats through in vain
A mountainous place
That knows no boundaries
Colorful,
Soft,
And brittle
Facing the sun,
Drinking from Earth,
Bowing to gravity
Whether exotic
Or indigenous,
Wild,
Or domestic,
Creating a balance
Of natural world
And human convenience
